Willow Class took part in World Book Dat today by coming into school dressed in colours from Kenya. Our day started by listening to the story of ‘Lila and the secret of the rain.’ We then discussed how the lives of children from Kenya differed from our lives. Mrs Bond then played us some African music and we looked at the different types of musical instruments that were used in the piece of music; djembe, the talking drum and the shekere. We then made own own talking drum from paper cups and painted them with African patterns and symbols.
