To kick start our topic ‘Towers, turrets & tunnels’ Year 1 were lucky enough to spend the day at Leeds Castle.  We were all taken on a tour of the castle and were told some interesting facts about the features, how the castle has changed and who has lived in Leeds Castle.  We were able to see the banquet hall where Henry VIII held feasts for over 500 guests and Catherine of Aragon’s bedroom and bathroom.  We then took part in the ‘Swan Princess’ workshop where we dressed up as the characters from the story.  All the children acted out their parts extremely well! Mrs Bond & Mrs Woolley were very proud of the excellent behaviour displayed by all the children, even the Educational Leaders from Leeds Castle commented on their superb manners and attitude!
