World Music Day

We listened to a piece of music titled ‘The Firebird’ which was composed by Stravinsky.  Mrs Bond also showed us a picture of the Firebird.  We then had to think about the story behind the music and write a narrative featuring the Firebird.  Mrs Bond & Mrs Woolley were really impressed with our story writing & some of us read our narratives out loud to the rest of the class.  This afternoon we painted a background then drew and decorated a Firebird using tissue paper; our finished pictures looked very effective! At the end of the day the whole school came together in a special assembly so each class could explain what they had been doing during our Music Day.  Lilia & Carys were very brave and explained to the whole school what work Year 1 had carried out; Lilia was exceptionally brave for reading her narrative to a very full school hall!
