We started our week with a visit from Kent Music, who entertained us with an hour long music assembly.
Bach to the Future is an interactive Roadshow that aims to inspire children to learn a musical instrument and to encourage an understanding of just how valuable music is to our world and to our everyday lives. The three experienced musicians each represented an instrument family and they gave us information about the instruments within those families. There was Colin on Brass, Lori on Strings, and Graeme on Woodwind.
The Roadshow included live demonstrations of music from film, TV and musical theatre, and a range of different styles of music from classical and jazz to popular music. The musicians played a variety of instruments and showed a range of video clips, film trailers, TV adverts, and comic musical pieces. They also led some audience participation activities including demonstrating instruments that can be made at home.
