This term we are doing gymnastics! We are breaking up into 4 different groups and doing a strength, flexibility and coordination activity! Here are some photos from today.
Year 5 had a fantastic science lesson this week. We investigated different materials to find out which one would be best to replace a vein. Their predictions and observations were very impressive, here are some photos of their written results.
In the last week of term, Year 6 performed a science experiment to investigate what material would be the best alternative to a vein. 6 materials were chosen and tested throughout the afternoon. We also visited the art exhibition, where the children got to view their hard work in a gallery setting.
Tuesday was a busy day as we took 33 children to an indoor athletics tournament over on the island. Years 3&4 competed in the morning with Years 5&6 competing after lunch. Last week we travelled twice to Maidstone for two football tournaments on Thursday (Boys) and Friday (Girls). The competition was fierce on both occasions and we were unlucky not to progress further. A massive well done to all of the children that participated and the parents/carers that came to support.

On Friday, we travelled over to Maidstone to compete in the Richard Young tournament. Taking an incredibly young team over to Maidstone, they proved that age is no barrier and came second!
This morning in Year 6, the children were placed in mixed groups and given an investigation to solve. Using the skills that we have been learnt this term, the class had to use the clues to try and figure out who the murderer was! Below are some photos of them in action.
As we draw to an end of the third week of Term 2, we challenged the class to work in small groups to make a rectangle out of a set of small quadrilaterals. It wasn’t easy and caused some headaches! We have been learning about all things shape this week in Maths. It has been a fairly practical week of learning, the class have been using nets to create 3D shapes and then were given cubes to see how many different cuboids they could make. Roll on the investigation tomorrow…
