On Friday 7th May, we had our own street party with sandwiches and a cake! Oak Class looked amazing in their VE Day costumes, we learnt about why we celebrate VE Day and looked at photos from the street parties in 1945!
Today Oak class made houses using biscuits and melted chocolate as edible cement.
This week in Oak class we have been learning to make 10 using 2 numbers. To help us with this we used numicon number shapes.
Oak Class love our time in the woods! We are developing our resilience to try new experiences.
Oak Class celebrated Harvest festival this week. We learnt the story ‘The Enormous Turnip’. On Friday we acted it out and we did an amazing job! Oak class have been learning about “Guy Fawkes” night and why we see fireworks at this time of the year. We learnt how to stay safe near fireworks and we created some firework pictures by combining paint, glitter and crayons.
After reading a funny story called “Vegetable glue” Oak class enjoyed trying some new vegetables dipped in Tzatziki dip. We were very impressed with their willingness to try something new!
Oak class enjoyed their first school trip of the year this week. We travelled by train to Sheerness, to visit “Kidz City” a children’s role play activity centre. We had a great time!
Everyone has been working really hard during our gymnastics training sessions. We have now finished learning our first routine. Next week we are moving onto some balance work on a beam.
