A great time was had by all! We danced, played pass the parcel and musical statues. Thank you for all the party food supplied.
Thank you to all the parents that attended.
The children learnt about the Hindu festival Diwali. They made diva lamps from clay and listened to the story of Rama and Sita. Mrs Fletcher showed us photographs and told us about when she lived in India. We danced to Indian music, made Diwali cards and did you know Diwali means ‘row of lights’?
Year 1 used the I pads to abc search for things beginning with letters of the alphabet. The children really enjoyed searching the internet independently.
Willow Class had a brilliant time visiting Leeds Castle. We acted out the story of the Swan Princess and looked round the castle.
We designed and made bridges out of spaghetti and marshmallows. Then tested how strong they were by adding pennies.
Year 1 became reporters and interviewed each other to help us write a recount on our visit to Leeds Castle.
We designed and made clay castles which the children enjoyed.
Clever hands club joined in with lots of activities to develop their fine motor control for writing. From miniature skittles and balancing chairs to shape tracing threading and transient art. Even our snack of blueberries practised a pincer movement!
