This week we created our own shelters. First, we practised tying knots. Then, we chose trees to attach our tarpaulin to. Next, we investigated the patterns on different bark and leaves using wax crayons. Our woodland artwork.

On Wednesday Maple Class had to investigate an incident in the woodlands – an alien rocket had crashed! We had to gather evidence to write an incident report. We found radioactive slime, ectoplasm, rocket fuel and a siren! We think the alien has camouflage powers and is currently hiding somewhere in the school.

What a fantastic end to the year! Thank you to all of you who were able to join us for our final express in year 2. The children had a lot of fun creating mini-beasts from natural resources found in the woodlands.
Year 2 and year 6 worked in collaboration this week when taking part in a shared maths lesson. The children had to put their skills of measuring to the test when measuring each other, before halving the measurements and starting to make half size year 6 replicas.

Year 2 had the opportunity to explore the woodland area this morning in search of mini-beasts. We were very lucky to find, Spiders, Centipedes, Slugs, Snails and Ants. The children enjoyed the hunt and were very enthusiastic throughout the lesson!
