Year 2

Mini-beast hunt- year 2

Year 2 had the opportunity to explore the woodland area this morning in search of mini-beasts. We were very lucky to find, Spiders, Centipedes, Slugs, Snails and Ants. The children enjoyed the hunt and were very enthusiastic throughout the lesson!


Year 1 and Year 2 had the opportunity to explore Sheerness for their topic work this term. We looked at how places have changed through the years and explored the different sites Sheerness has to offer. No pens day in year 2

The children were very excited when they realised it was no pens day on Friday, although they assumed we had no work to do, they were soon mistaken! Kemsley Carnival!

Year 1 and 2 had an amazing Express Event today! We celebrated Rio Carnival Kemsley Style! There were Samba drums! FOOD!!!!!   Carnival masks and headdresses! Well done to some of our little monsters!

All year 2 children have been introduced to the phonics programme, ‘teach your monster to read’. Some of our clever little monsters have completed the first stage of the online phonics game and received a certificate in assembly from Mrs Andrews. Well done to those of you working hard at home on your phonics!

What’s the time?

Year 2 have been working very hard on learning the time so far this week. It has been very difficult for everyone, although year 2 have been resilient and persisted with developing their understanding of telling the time. We will be continuing to work on time over the next week.
