Congratulations to our Year 3 and 4 team of hockey players who competed in the Swale Quick Sticks Hockey tournament on Monday at Borden Grammar School. After some coaching from David, a Year 11 pupil at the school, (whose hair was as impressive as his hockey skills!), we played 6 games in all, winning four … Continue reading
Thank you to the parents who joined us for our learning this week, who saw us end our Tremors learning by erupting our volcanoes, using a mixture of vinegar and bicarbonate of soda, and testing our earthquake proof houses.
Earlier this week, Beech Class ventured into the woodland area, armed with sheets, pegs and rope. It was quite a squeeze, but thank you to all the parents who came in today to help us with our learning. We managed to produce some quite convincing adverts for our potions, showed our knowledge of solids, liquids and gases with a science quiz and had time to start a word search! Thank you … Continue reading
Thank you to Rick and Bob who came in with their 44 ton cab to give us some road safety guidence. We all got the chance to sit in the cab, to get a lorry drivers view of the road, and found out more about safety around thse vehicles.
During our potions learning, we have also been looking at the properties of solids, liquids and gasses. This week, we mixed a solid with a liquid and observed the effects. Despite being invisible, we knew a gas was made because the balloon inflated.
