Year 5

Handball Tournament

On Wednesday after school, we took a team to the handball tournament over at the Academy. A total of 24 schools competed and we finished in 6th place! A massive thank you to Lewis for coaching the team over the last term.  


Year 5 have been investigating what different nets go with which different 3D Shape. On Monday, they were given the task of trying to draw the net of a variety of different shapes. Be,ow are some pictures from the lesson.  

Express Event – Year 5

A huge, huge thank you to all of the parents/guardians who were able to come in this morning to take part in our Express Event. Below are some of the photos that were taken from this morning – we have some very talented artists!


Year 5 spent the afternoon on Tuesday learning about chromatography! We used filter paper, felt pins pens and water to see the what each colour is made up of! We had some interesting results!

Junk Music Workshop!

On Wednesday last week, we had a special visitor from Highstead to teach an hour of junk music. We used a selection of different ‘interesting’ instruments to create a piece of music! we all had great fun and learnt loads about how music can be made from different ‘junk’! PCSO trip to Year 5

On Thursday morning, we had a very special visit from 3 Police Community Support Officers to discuss online safety. We learnt many things about the importance of staying safe and of how we can do this.  

Year 5 and zip wires!

On Thursday afternoon, Year 5 made zip wires from a variety of different materials. They predicted which material would allow a carriage to travel down it the quickest! They all worked amazingly in teams and timed their results; I wonder what material worked best.. Below are some photos from our Science afternoon!
