Maple Class had lots of fun learning the points of a compass in a fun, practical way this afternoon. We played a game of ‘Captains Says’ where one member of the Class stood in the middle of the playground and called out instructions such as “Captain says hop north” or “Captain says skip south.” We also added in fun instructions, these included scrub the deck, sea sick and climb the rigging. We then used our new skills to complete a treasure hunt worksheet were we had to follow the directions of north, south, east and west to navigate a pirate to his treasure.
