homelearning

Information on home learning is sent out by class teachers and varies dependent upon the year group.

Each half term, all children in all year groups will receive a leaflet detailing the curriculum overview for the upcoming term.  Optional projects to be completed during the holidays are given on these leaflets.  Children are rewarded with achievement points if they complete these projects.

All children are expected to read at home at least 3 times per week.  Children will also be heard read in school.  Reading should be captured in children’s reading record books.

Spellings and times tables programmes are in place in years 2 upwards (and for some children in year 1).  Children are able to work through these programmes at their own level.  It is expected that children spend time learning and consolidating their times table and spellings knowledge at home.

English and Maths homework will be set in all year groups.  The extent of this homework will vary from year to year and parents should refer to class teachers for further guidance.
